She is the second woman to hold this position in the history of the organization, which was organized in 1950. She has been an optician for the past 18 years. She joined the organization in 1972 and served on the Board of Directors 1976-86. She worked as the publicity chair and was L.A.D.O. pin chair in 1985.

She was co-chair of the 1985 state convention and served as president elect in 1986. Her memberships include: Catholic Daughters, Ladies Altar Society of St. Landry Catholic Church, charter membership in the GFWC Unique Club, past president of Civic Circle, and Elk's Auxiliary since 1975.
