Rene Albert Tate, Sr. December 5. 1931 July 8, 2009 4 Il3 VILLE -PLATTE It is witn sajness that the family of Rene Albert Tate, 77 announces his passing on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Ville Platte Medical Center. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 2pm at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church.

Rene was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School as well as SLI which is now UL, having served as 1st Lieutenant in U.S. Navy and was a successful business man for over 50 years. He served as past president of Louisiana Oil Market Association, Exxon Brand Chairman of National Oil Jobbers Association, board member of Evangeline Economic Development District which was instrumental in developing the Industrial Park. He was also a past president of Rotary Club and was the founder of Sacred Heart Foundation. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lola Soileau Tate of 45 years; two daughters, Monique Tate Partin and husband, Bruce and Minette Tate Feduccia and husband, Greg; one son, Rene A.

Tate, II; eight grandchildren, Casey Tate, Macy Tate, Christen Partin Howell, Teresa Partin, Jasmin Partin, Marcos Partin, Erin Feduccia, and Hunter Feduccia; and one great grandchild, Demi Ray Tate. He is preceded in death by July 13, 2009 One day at Paragon RITES CZ Julian Mitchell Rideaux, Jr. LAFAYETTE services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Kinchen Funeral Home for Julian Mitchell Rideaux, age 66, who died July 3, 2009 in Lafayette. LAKE ARTHUR Services for Leeroy Anthony Mier, 51, will be held. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur, La on Friday, July 10, 2009 10 a.m. with Father Clyde Thomas officiating the memorial service. Leeroy passed away peacefully Tuesday evening at University Medical Center in Lafayette. Visitation will be held at Matthews Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur beginning on Thursday, July 9th from 2:30 PM until 10 p.m.

and will resume Friday, July 10th at 8 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. Leeroy was born in Gueydan, La to the late Leeroy Anthony Mier, Sr. and Helen Fachan Mier on January 10, 1958.

He was a truck driver by trade and loved driving 18 wheelers. He enjoyed being on the open road and taking in the sights of the countryside. He also enjoyed being outdoors and going camping and fishing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. CARENCRO Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 2 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Curt James Duhon, age 29, who passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 12:30 a.m. in Church Point. Peter Roman Catholic Church will officiate at the services. Curt was born in Lafayette and was a resident of Ville Platte for most of his life. Survivors include his son, Cole James Duhon and the mother of his son, Kelly Miller of Eunice; his father, Curtis Duhon and his companion, Irene Stelly, both of Breaux Bridge; his paternal grandmother, Gladys Courville Duhon of Carencro; his maternal grandmother, Belva Diaville Roberie of Ville Platte; one brother, Kyle Duhon of Breaux Bridge; one sister, Candice Forrestier and her husband, Blake, of Carencro; one half brother, David Fontenot of Ville Platte; and three half sisters, Kayla Hurssey and her husband, Shane, of Youngsville, Brook Fontenot of Lafayette, and Tywaina McDaniel of Ville Platte. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Roberie; his paternal grandfather, Stanley Duhon; and his maternal grandfather, Lawrence Roberie. Mrs. Picard, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Sidney Louviere of Lafayette, LA and the former Alice Benton of Lafayette, LA. She was a member of St. Leo the Great Church. She is survived by one daughter, June Picard Arton and husband Buddy of Breaux Bridge, two sons, Edward J. Picard, Jr. of Baton Rouge, and Brian K. Picard and wife Heidi McGrew of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, Andrew Arton, Aaron Arton, Chad Picard, Rebecca Picard and Meghan Picard; I two sisters, Lois Cronin of Lafayette, and Janet Delatte. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward Picard, two sisters, Jane Martin and Dorothy Begnaud; and four brothers, Sidney Louviere, Mark "Pee Wee" Louviere, Leopold Louviere and Anthony Louviere.

Edgar Rowan Martien, Sr. ii LAFAYETTE Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2009 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Edgar Rowan Martien, 80, who passed away on July 8, 2009 at 12:07 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Reverend Duane Peterson, Associate Pastor of Episcopal Church of the Ascension will conduct the funeral services. Ed, a resident of Scott, LA, was the son of the late Norman Hopkins Martien, Sr.

of Waterproof, Louisiana and the former Mabel Rowan of Newellton, Louisiana. Ed served in the Army in the 1st Armored Division during the Korean War. He was an avid LSU fan, a member of Tiger Athletic Foundation, formerly serving on the Advisory Board. He was also a former member on the University Club Board, a member of the Petroleum Club, and a member of Oakbourne Country Club -where he consistently shot his age- and a member of The Farm Country Club. Ed retired after 38 years of service with Chevron as a Production Superintendent.

He was also Vice President of Petroleum Coordinators Inc. since 1985. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Labbe Martien of Scott; one daughter, Helen Martien Wofford and husband, Glen of Broussard; one son, Eddie Martien, Jr. and wife, Annette of Lafayette; two stepdaughters, Leslie Flynn and husband, Steven of Lafayette, and Melissa Jones of Hammond; nine grandchildren, Nicole Wofford, Glen Wofford, Jr. and wife, Katie, Tim Wofford, Sydney Martien, Joshua Flynn, Joseph Flynn, Tony Jones, Avery Jones, and Jason Gaspard; one greatgrandchild, Ethan Wofford; two brothers, Norman H.

Martien, Jr. and wife, Helen of Denham Springs and Charles "Sam" Martien of Natchez, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents. A 3 tit, BREAUX BRIDGE Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 11, 2009, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for James Hebert, 89, who passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Father Allen Breaux will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Mr.

Hebert was a veteran of World War II having served as rank of Sergeant. He was a member of Woodman of the World and American Legion. He enjoyed card games, attending the Casino, spending time with his family and friends, hunting and telling war stories. He became a member of the Knights of the Round Table through Cargil Salt Company; in that time span, he was knighted three times. Mr.

Hebert was interviewed for a documentary to bring the memories of his war stories to life by placing them in the Abbeville WWII Museum. Survivors include his sons, Rocky Hebert and his wife, Cynthia of Parks, Rod Hebert and his wife, Charlotte of Houston, TX; his daughters, Nelma Martin and her husband, Dale, Becky Blanchard and her husband, John, and Terri LeBlanc and her companion, Mike Mowad, all of Breaux Bridge; his brothers. Jack Hebert and his wife, Kathleen of Breaux Bridge, Isaac Hebert and his wife, Carol, of Youngsville; his sisters, Belzire Gravouilla, Mary Rose "Rokie" Castille, and Mary Jane Latiolais, all of Breaux Bridge; 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Boudreaux Hebert; his son, Richard Hebert; his parents, Joseph Hebert, Jr. and Edith Webre Hebert; his brothers, John George, Rufus, and Joseph "Uncle Joe" Hebert, and his sisters, Lillian and Janet Jane Hebert.

He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. He had friends all over Lafayette and was always a loving man who took his family on many adventures. He is survived by his four children, Denise (Daniel) Chaisson, Glenn (Margaret) Gathe, Karen Gathe and Jacqueline Gathe Cormier; a loving cousin, Mary Demaris who always stood by his side throughout life; siblings, Wilertha Begnaud and Florence Gathe; a daughter-in-law, Earline Gathe; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Mary Jacquet Gathe; his son, Stephen Howard Gathe, an infant daughter, Odessa Ann Gathe; his father, Audrey Gathe and his mother, Anita Begnaud Gathe; two brothers, Aaron Gathe and John Claudrey Gathe.
