Mr. Scarborough, 83, was born August 18, 1925 in Haynesville, Louisiana.

He passed away peacefully on February 12, 2009 at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital of Lafayette. Reverend Chris Blanchard of Covenant Methodist Church will conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in Fountain Memorial Gardens During his youth in North Louisiana, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Later in life, he enjoyed managing their real estate investments. Lannie attended school in Haynesville, Louisiana and in 1943, he was drafted into the United States Army.

He. proudly served our country in France and Belgium during World War IL. On October 7, 1946, following his return from Europe, Lannie married Lanez Barnette in Bossier City, Louisiana. During his 40 years of faithful employment with Marathon Oil Company, he and his family lived in Haynesville, Louisiana, Orange, Texas, Bay City, Texas, Lafayette, Louisiana and New Orleans, Louisiana. He and his family returned to, Lafayette in 1984 where he retired as a production superintendent in 1987.

During their retirement, Lannie and Lanez enjoyed their camp at Toledo Bend. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lanez Barnette Scarborough, daughters Kay Gibson and husband, Mac, Lyndi Tuschl and husband, Brian; sister, Pat Young and husband Rex. He was especially proud of his four grandchildren, Caron Gibson of Lafayette and Sarah, DeLanie and Gabriel Tuschl of Spring Texas. They were eagerly awaiting the birth of another Tuschl grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delton and Ketura Scarborough and a daughter, Lanette Scarborough.

Lannie's family would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to all of the staff on the 8th floor at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital at Lafayette General Medical Center. Their compassionate care will always be remembered by his family. Additionally, the family would like to thank by Drs.
